Windows Client Installation FAQs

1. How to initiate the Aadhaar client in Windows? I do not find any one click installer?

In java client, No one click installer is available. Install Aadhaar Enrolment Client and then install the Dependencies [VDMs] manually. Please refer the Installation procedure in README document.

2. After Installation, when I click on the shortcut created on desktop, it throws an error “This version of the client is not registered”?

After installing the client, it should be registered before starting the enrolments. Launch ECA and then register the client.

3. How to login into the ECA/ECMP application? After Installation, I find only user id with operator and supervisor in login window?

 The EA must download the digitally signed userCredential.xml file from Admin portal and import it into the client application through ECA.

 After importing the user credential file, on board all the required users through ECA.

 After on boarding the users, all on boarded users will be available in the application login window.

 Refer the administrator manual for details.

4. What is the procedure to be followed to create login for our operator and supervisor?

 Download the digitally signed userCredential.xml from Admin portal and import it into client.

 Create Windows User Accounts for all the required users.

 On board the required users through ECA.

5. Why Registrar Certificate and how to import into the application?

Registrar Certificate is required for generating encrypted registrar packets. By default registrar certificates are bundled with client application. In addition to this, after successful registration application will try to download the certificate from the admin portal.

Registrar certificate can also manually import to application by clicking on the “Download and Import” button. Online connectivity is required for this.

Also there is an option to manually import it from a location on the computer.

6. Cannot see my Registrar/Enrolment Agency details in the Drop Down list of Client Identity tab?

Download the Registrar data from the Admin Portal and Import it at Database management tab in ECA. For more information please refer Administrator Manual under Documents folder.

7. How to select the Local Language for my Application?

Please select Local language from the Demographic Screen tab of ECA application. For more information please refer Administrator Manual under Documents folder.

8. How to register the Aadhaar Enrolment client? “Register” button is disabled?

 Select the Registrar and Enrolment Agency details in Client Identity tab of ECA and Click on “Save Changes”

 Then after entering the user credentials at the textboxes at Registration panel, the “Register” button will be enabled.

9. How to use the Client in Pre enrolment Mode?

 Launch ECMP-Lite; Enter Application Number/Pre Enrolment Id.

 Capture demographic and Save it

 This ID can be used in ECMP/Aadhaar Enrolment Client.

10. Where to give Operator Confirmation?

After capturing demographic and biometric details, Click on Save and then give the Operator Confirmation.

11. Can Partially Enrolled user do enrolments?

No. Only users on boarded in the client can do enrolments.

12. How to get the Registrar packets?

Registrar packets can be exported at Export tab manually.

13. What is the minimum recommended screen resolution for enrolment client?

1024 x 768 is the minimum recommended screen resolution for enrolment client.

14. What is the recommended configuration for document scanner to be used with enrolment client?

 Must be TWAIN Compliant

 Must Support Color Scanning by default

 Must Support 300dpi by default

 Before using Scanner with Client software, please ensure that twain drivers are loaded on the machine.
